On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, work on the improvement and reconstruction of infrastructure, in particular, road surfaces, is being actively carried out in the city of Penjikent. This was reported by the Executive Authority of the city.
According to official data, 43.5 kilometers of local roads were paved in preparation for the anniversary, and another 43.2 kilometers were covered with crushed stone. In the village of Dashti Kozi of the rural jamoat of Yori, work has begun on paving a 1,300-meter section of the road.
During the launch of the works, representatives of the city's leadership emphasized that the events are being carried out in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. It was especially noted that some of the works are being carried out at the initiative of the residents themselves, who contribute to the improvement of their native land.
According to plans for 2025, 24 kilometers of roads in Penjikent will be paved and 60 kilometers of roads will be covered with crushed stone using all sources of funding.
The work is aimed at improving transport accessibility, raising the standard of living of the population and preparing for a significant date – the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
