In honor of the celebration of Youth Day of Tajikistan on May 18, large-scale sporting events will be held in all cities and regions of the country – the National Run and Bicycle Marathon. The start of both events is scheduled for 07:30 in the morning, the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.
Mass sports events will become a bright event, uniting a wide range of participants: residents of different regions of the country, representatives of foreign embassies, as well as employees of various state and commercial structures – ministries, committees, enterprises, institutions and organizations. Such events are aimed at activating sports activities and strengthening the unity of society through a healthy lifestyle.
In the capital, the National Run will start from the Chorbog post and will end at the Navruzgokh State Institution. The distance and route of the run are designed to involve participants of all age categories and levels of physical fitness as much as possible.
The National Run is held annually in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 28, 2007 "On the Day of the National Run". This event is traditionally scheduled for the third Sunday of May and is aimed at promoting sports as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle in the country. The main goal is to encourage the population to engage in regular physical activity, develop a sports culture and popularize various sports among the general population.
In addition to the running competition, a cycling marathon will also be held on this day – a sporting event designed to draw attention to the development of cycling in the republic, expand opportunities for active recreation and health improvement of citizens. Participants of the cycling marathon will be able to demonstrate a sporting spirit and unity in supporting a healthy lifestyle.
The national running and cycling marathon are nationwide initiatives that contribute not only to the physical health of the population, but also to the formation of positive social ties, mutual understanding and patriotism among young people and all age groups.
Residents and visitors of Tajikistan are invited to take part in these sporting events and support the tradition of annually celebrating Youth Day through sport.
