A student of the capital's Lyceum No. 3 for gifted students, Bogdan Voskolovich, became the winner of the international chess tournament "Issyk-Kul Open – 2025", which was held from June 20 to 29 in the Kyrgyz Republic. This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The prestigious competition among young chess players (Group C, up to 14 years) took place in the health center "Solemar" on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Representatives from seven countries took part in the tournament, which ensured a high level of competition and a tense fight for leadership.
A pupil of the Tajik school, Voskolovich Bogdan, played 9 rounds, in which he scored 7.5 points, showing a confident and mature performance. Following the tournament, he took first place and was awarded a gold medal.
The Ministry of Education noted that the success of the young chess player was the result not only of his personal efforts, but also of the coordinated work of teachers, coaches, and the entire system of special education in Tajikistan, aimed at developing the intellectual abilities of gifted schoolchildren.
“We are proud of this achievement and hope that it will be only the first step on the path to new victories in the international chess arena,” the department emphasized.
