The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Mukhriddin took part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which was held on June 30 in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the heads of the foreign policy departments discussed current issues of multilateral cooperation within the CSTO, paying special attention to measures to counter challenges and threats in the Organization's area of responsibility. The agenda included issues of ensuring regional security, combating terrorism and extremism, and strengthening information security.
Following the meeting, a number of decisions were signed aimed at the further development and productive activities of the CSTO. In addition, the participants approved statements concerning counteraction to radicalization leading to terrorism and extremism, and expressed concern about the situation in the Middle East.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the first stage of the “CSTO Targeted Interstate Program for Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan State Border,” which was positively assessed by all participants.
The event also included a meeting between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Dzhaparov and the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states, where issues of expanding cooperation and strengthening regional security were discussed.
