In Tajikistan, three serious road accidents occurred in two days, killing eight people, including two minors. Three more participants in the accidents were seriously injured. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
The first accident occurred on June 27 at about 20:00 in the capital. According to the police, 22-year-old Dushanbe resident Shamsiddin Tadjibaev, driving a Toyota Camry, hit 81-year-old pedestrian Shirin Khodjiev, who was crossing Mastonqulov Street near the Khavopaimo restaurant. The victim was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The second and most serious accident occurred on June 28 at about 11:50 on the 332.2nd kilometer of the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway in B. Gafurov district. According to preliminary data, the driver of the Volkswagen, citizen of Uzbekistan Mukhammadi Kholboev, born in 1960, collided with a Toyota Corolla, after which he drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Mercedes-Benz moving in the opposite direction.
As a result of the accident, the following died on the spot: Muhammadi Kholboev, the driver of the Volkswagen; his brother Anvarzhon Kholbaev, a passenger in the same car; Vohid Urazbekov, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz; his brother Zohir Urazbekov, a passenger; Zarifzhon Urazbekov, a passenger; Javlonbek Urazbekov (born in 2010), a minor passenger; Sumaya Urazbekova (born in 2017), a minor passenger.
All those killed in the Mercedes-Benz were residents of the city of Istiklol. Two children were citizens of the Russian Federation.
The following were hospitalized with serious injuries: Jahonshhoh Mukhiddinov, driver of the Toyota Corolla; Anas Mukhiddinzoda (born in 2017), passenger of the Toyota Corolla; Jurabek Kholbaev (born in 1990), passenger of the Volkswagen.
The third accident occurred on the same day at about 1:30 p.m. on the Dushanbe-Nizhniy Pyandzh highway. The driver of a Mercedes-Benz 200, Makhmadali Khanifov, lost control and hit a 15-year-old pedestrian, Mukhammad Odinaev. The teenager was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Law enforcement agencies have opened criminal cases on all the facts of road accidents. Investigations are underway.
