From June 24 to 26, 2025, the second staff talks on preparation for the command and staff exercise "Frontier-2025" with units of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR, the CSTO press service reports) were held in Kyrgyzstan.
The exercise is planned as part of the joint operational-strategic exercise "Combat Brotherhood-2025" of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
Representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Emergencies and other relevant departments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel Azamat Dyushembekov took part in the negotiations.
The parties agreed on a plan for conducting an operational gathering with the command of the CAR CRRF, the concept of the exercise, the schedule for the arrival of national contingents, the procedure for conducting practical stages, as well as issues of logistical support.
The military also conducted reconnaissance of the area where the maneuvers will take place – the Edelweiss training center and a section of the waters of Lake Issyk-Kul.
It should be noted that the CRRF was created for a joint response to threats to military security in Central Asian countries, including repelling external aggression and conducting counter-terrorism operations. The CRRF includes permanent readiness units from CSTO member states equipped with modern weapons and equipment.
