Dushanbe police officers brought blogger Umeda Muratova to administrative responsibility for showing disrespect for the national currency, the press service of the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs reported .
While monitoring video materials on social networks, law enforcement officers established that citizen Muratova, the administrator of an Instagram page, published a video in which she demonstratively sets fire to a 50-somoni banknote.
The incident was classified as disrespect for the state currency, which, according to the law, is considered a national symbol.
"Such behavior indicates a low level of morality and culture," the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted. "The national currency is part of the state symbols, and its desecration is unacceptable."
An administrative protocol was drawn up against Muratova on this fact under Article 483 (Supplement 1) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan. By the court's decision, she was fined. The amount of the fine was not specified.
