The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, held a warm and meaningful meeting with a group of 100 orphans and teenagers with disabilities under 18 years of age in the Roshtkala district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The meeting was attended by children from Murghab, Ishkashim and Roshtkala districts. As part of the state's ongoing social policy, Emomali Rahmon presented gifts to the young participants, including sets of clothes, stationery and sweets.
The President particularly emphasized that support for vulnerable groups of the population, including orphans, street children and children with disabilities, is one of the key areas of social policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. He noted that children left without care are under the constant guardianship of the state and receive comprehensive support for full development.
“Our duty is to create all the conditions for you so that you grow up as worthy citizens of the country, receive a quality education and can realize your potential,” Emomali Rahmon noted.
During the conversation, the Head of State gave instructions to responsible persons to ensure the development of the education system for children of this category, to create conditions for studying foreign languages and to encourage the participation of teenagers in Olympiads and competitions at various levels.
According to local authorities, there are currently about 40 orphans and teenagers with disabilities living in the Roshtkala district. There is one boarding school for their education and upbringing, where they are provided with appropriate living conditions, care and education.
The President stressed the importance of building and modernizing boarding schools, calling them an important element of state support. Such institutions, he said, play an important role in the socialization and education of children from low-income families and those left without parental care.
Residents and representatives of local administrations expressed deep gratitude to the President for his attention to the needs of children and constant concern for the well-being of the younger generation, especially in remote regions of the country.
