A draft law on expanding the list of grounds for depriving acquired citizenship has been submitted to the State Duma, said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Interfax reports.
"Today, a parliamentary bill was introduced. We proposed that all our colleagues in the State Duma support it. We consider it necessary to expand the list of grounds on which acquired citizenship of the Russian Federation will be revoked," Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
According to him, it is proposed to include in such a list the commission of violent acts of a sexual nature (Parts 3-5 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code); public calls for terrorist activity, justification or propaganda of terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code); cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization against the security of our country (Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code); assistance in the implementation of decisions of international organizations in which the Russian Federation does not participate, or foreign government agencies (Article 284.3 of the Criminal Code); assistance to the enemy in activities knowingly directed against the security of Russia (Article 276.1 of the Criminal Code); propaganda of Nazi attributes or symbols (Article 282.4 of the Criminal Code); public calls for activities directed against the security of the state (Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code); unlawful influence on the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation (parts 4-5 of Article 274.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
"The adoption of the bill will ensure a systemic and comprehensive mechanism of grounds for terminating Russian citizenship and protecting national security," the State Duma Chairman believes.
