The Chairman of the Sughd Region, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, visited Jabbor Rasulov District as part of a working visit, where he got acquainted with the progress of field work, the process of improvement and creative activities on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.
Jabbor-Rasulov district, considered one of the leading agricultural regions of Sogd, annually demonstrates significant success in agricultural production. Local farmers, relying on scientifically sound agricultural methods, obtain stable and high-quality harvests, which contributes to strengthening the country's food security.
During the trip, the head of the region visited dehkan farms, where he got acquainted with the current work on harvesting, preparation for re-sowing and rational use of agricultural land. In particular, in the dehkan farm "Shakhzod" of the rural jamoat of Gulkhon, cotton, onions and grain crops are grown on 2.5 hectares of land. After the harvest, re-sowing is planned.
The regional chairman emphasized that thanks to the constant support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the head of state Emomali Rahmon, the state of the irrigation system in the region is improving, and this creates conditions for the development of new lands. In order to ensure food security, he instructed the responsible structures to pay special attention to each hectare of arable land and create reserves of products for the autumn-winter period.
According to experts, onions were sown on 280 hectares this year, and rice on 1,000 hectares, which is 115 hectares more than last year. The total area of agricultural land in the district is 24,483 hectares, of which more than 12,000 hectares are irrigated.
In the dehkan farm "Gaffor Alimatov" of the Gulakandoz jamoat, cotton, wheat, barley, forage crops and vegetables are grown on 109.65 hectares. According to farmers, the climate of the region is conducive to growing various agricultural crops with a high yield.
Rajabboy Akhmadzoda instructed local farmers to actively implement best practices, collaborate with scientists and use high-yielding seeds to increase productivity.
For significant achievements in the agricultural sector and contribution to food security, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, agricultural leaders were presented with commemorative gifts.
Particular attention is paid to the development of gardening in the district. A resident of the village of Dekhmoy, Khakim Sohibnazarov, has laid out an intensive garden on 2.52 hectares, planting more than 1,000 seedlings of various fruit trees. In addition, he successfully uses one hectare of land for sowing potatoes, followed by sowing cabbage and garlic.
In order to increase the export potential, 8 onion collection and packaging points operate near the district railway. To date, 400 tons of products have been prepared and are ready to be shipped abroad. In addition, the products are supplied to the domestic markets of the Sughd region and other regions of the country.
The regional chairman instructed entrepreneurs and representatives of the agricultural sector to intensify the export of products and arrange for their delivery to processing plants.
At the end of the visit, in honor of the National Unity Day, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda visited veterans of labor – spouses Yusufjon Tolibov and Nasiba Shukurova, who have devoted more than 40 years to work in the education system. He also met with a participant of the historic XVI session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdurasul Khabibov. The veterans were presented with gifts on behalf of the Leader of the Nation.
