The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, arrived on a working visit to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region on June 25. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The purpose of the President's visit is to become familiar with the socio-economic situation of the regions, the progress of improvement and construction work, participate in the opening ceremonies of the most important facilities, and hold meetings and discussions with the population as part of the celebration of National Unity Day.
The working visit of the head of state began in the Vanj district. In the village of Paishanbeobod, the high-ranking guest was warmly and solemnly greeted by local residents, as well as representatives of the cultural and artistic spheres.
As reported by the district administration, in the run-up to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the construction of 140 social, industrial and infrastructure facilities is planned in the Vanj district. To date, 90 facilities have been completed and commissioned.
The commissioned facilities include educational institutions, healthcare institutions, water and energy supply facilities, as well as small and medium-sized businesses. Their opening contributes to the creation of new jobs, improved working conditions and public services, and an increase in the standard of living of citizens.
Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the results achieved, noting that state policy towards the regions will continue to be aimed at comprehensive development and ensuring social stability.
As part of the visit to GBAO, it is planned to visit a number of other cities and districts, open new facilities and participate in festive events dedicated to National Unity Day.
