On June 20, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between the First Deputy Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Tursunzoda and the newly appointed Director of the KOICA Regional Office in the Republic of Tajikistan Kang Sing Hong, the press center of the agency reported.
During the meeting, Azim Tursunzoda expressed the readiness of the Tajik side to strengthen cooperation and effectively implement joint projects.
The parties discussed priority areas of cooperation, including risk management, post-customs control, passenger flow management, modernization of IT infrastructure, creation of a customs monitoring center, and equipping customs officers with modern equipment.
Azim Tursunzoda emphasized that cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the development of a risk management system plays an important role in modernizing customs operations, accurately identifying risks and protecting the country's economic interests.
Kang Sing Hon noted that his experience in other countries prepared him to participate in the implementation of new projects. He noted that the main goal of KOICA is to assist in the creation and improvement of information systems and customs infrastructure in Tajikistan.
The parties emphasized the importance of the issues discussed for the development of the customs sphere and the national interests of the parties, and also expressed their readiness for cooperation and effective implementation of projects.
