A preventive operation codenamed "Rescue" is ongoing in the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan. Its main goal is to prevent accidents on the water, especially in the summer. This was reported by the Khatlon Region Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As part of this initiative, employees of the internal affairs agencies in all cities and districts of the region installed special information posters in dangerous and prohibited places for swimming. Warning materials were placed near rivers, canals, ponds and reservoirs, where there is a high probability of incidents related to violation of water safety rules.
The installed posters contain information about the ban on swimming in specific places, explain possible risks, and also provide basic rules for providing first aid to a person in distress in the water, and actions for carrying out emergency medical procedures before the arrival of specialists.
In addition, police officers held meetings with the population, in particular with teenagers, young people and residents living in coastal areas. During the preventive conversation, issues of ensuring safety near bodies of water, preventing tragic incidents among minors and the need for strict compliance with established restrictions were discussed.
"The main objective of our campaign is to preserve the lives and health of citizens, especially children, during the summer holidays, when the risk of unauthorized swimming in unsafe places increases. We urge parents to be especially attentive and regularly remind children of the rules of conduct near water," the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
Operation "Rescue" is carried out annually in the summer and will continue until the end of the season. Responsible agencies call on citizens to observe safety measures and inform about possible administrative liability for violating the established rules.
