On Tuesday, the second session of the Majlis of People's Deputies of the seventh convocation was held in the building of the Executive Body of State Authority of the Sughd Region. The meeting was attended by 66 out of 70 deputies, as well as heads of regional structures, representatives of law enforcement agencies and educational institutions. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.
The session opened with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Tajikistan and was chaired by the head of the region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda. During the meeting, six key issues were considered, including the progress of the state program for the development of mathematical, exact and natural sciences for 2021-2025.
Deputy Chairman of the region Jamshed Jurazoda informed the session participants about the adoption and implementation of the relevant resolution of the head of the region aimed at implementing the program. In particular, within the framework of the initiative, two new educational institutions were opened – the Institute of Exact Sciences and Technologies of Tajikistan and the Institute of Industry and Service, which significantly strengthens the training of specialized specialists in the region.
Currently, there are over 110 laboratories and 97 educational complexes in universities, as well as 147 laboratories and 149 educational complexes in secondary vocational education institutions operating in the region. During the program implementation period, 65 candidate and 13 doctoral dissertations were defended in the region. In addition, 340 scientific conferences at the national and international levels, as well as over 1,100 seminars and round tables were held.
However, problems with providing educational institutions with modern equipment, chemical reagents and necessary materials remain relevant. In this regard, the head of the region instructed to increase funding and expand cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and specialized academies.
Deputies Saodat Amnidzhonova, Mubina Khodjaeva and Muazzam Ansori noted the importance of implementing the program for the development of science and technology in the region.
Also on the agenda were issues of terminating the powers of a number of deputies and calling additional elections, as well as personnel appointments.
The second part of the session focused on issues of the agricultural sector. Industry specialist Bobojon Domulloev reported on the start of re-sowing work in the region. This season, 27 types of agricultural crops are being cultivated, including corn, rice, melons, vegetables and livestock feed.
The head of the region gave instructions on the widespread introduction of modern agricultural technologies, the use of high-quality seeds and new agricultural models to ensure food security and stable market saturation.
At the end of the session, the head of the region set tasks for improvement, preparation for the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, organizing the celebration of National Unity Day, providing school uniforms, building educational and medical institutions, as well as activating production capacities and timely fulfillment of tax plans.
