On June 19, Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said visited the private farm "Khoji Partov" in the rural jamoat of Tugarak in the Vose district to get acquainted with the progress of the harvest of onions, potatoes, carrots and the condition of the cotton crops, the press service of the regional administration reported .
The total area of the farm is 18 hectares, of which 4 hectares are occupied by wheat, 0.5 hectares by onions, 0.5 hectares by potatoes, and 13 hectares by cotton. At present, farmers are actively harvesting the crop and express satisfaction with its quality and volume.
During the visit, the head of the region held a constructive conversation with businessmen, noting their important role in ensuring the country's food security. Davlatali Said emphasized that in the context of the global food shortage, as well as climate change and lack of water resources, the efforts of agricultural producers are especially important for the stable provision of the population with high-quality food products.
Special attention was paid to the peculiarities of the natural and climatic conditions of the region, which are favorable for growing potatoes. The use of rational methods of land cultivation, the involvement of household plots, personal subsidiary farms, including presidential lands and plots at enterprises, as well as the use of seeds adapted to the local climate, compliance with agrotechnical requirements and the introduction of advanced experience contribute to an increase in the production of basic types of food.
The regional chairman gave recommendations for further improvement of agricultural technologies and intensification of work with agricultural producers to increase yields and product quality.
