Tajikistan is preparing to host a large-scale international event in the light industry – the First International Textile Forum and Exhibition of Textile Equipment will be held in Dushanbe from July 8 to 10, 2025. The organizer is the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The venues are Hyatt Regency Dushanbe and Dushanbe Expo Center.
The forum reflects Tajikistan's strategic course towards industrialization, support for export-oriented production and development of the textile industry as one of the drivers of sustainable economic growth. Today, there are more than 500 textile and clothing industry enterprises in the country, employing over 18 thousand people. Particular attention is paid to the creation of full-cycle clusters – from cotton cultivation to finished product manufacturing. The silk sector, focused on localization and export, is also actively developing.
The development of the textile industry is enshrined as one of the key areas of the National Strategy for Cotton Production and Processing for 2024–2040. This strategy aims to increase competitiveness, create new jobs, and integrate Tajikistan into global value chains.
The forum in Dushanbe will become an important international platform for dialogue between government agencies, business, scientific and technological communities. The forum will discuss key issues of industry development: industrial integration, localization of production, implementation of innovative solutions, expansion of export opportunities and formation of sustainable forms of international cooperation.
The event is expected to bring together delegations from more than 50 countries, including government representatives, international organizations, business associations, financial institutions, and leading global manufacturers of textile equipment and products. More than 200 international experts, 50 manufacturers, 25 official government delegations, and over 100 representatives of Tajik businesses are expected to attend.
The forum programme includes plenary sessions and panel discussions, a specialised exhibition of textile equipment, demonstrations of light industry products and business meetings in B2B (business-to-business) and G2B (government-to-business) formats.
The aim of the event is to present Tajikistan as a promising platform for investment in the textile industry, demonstrate its production potential and establish sustainable international partnerships in the context of the new industrial transformation.
