The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli, Chairman of the City of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali took part in the opening ceremony of the new administrative building of the State Unitary Enterprise "Smart City", located on Jalol Ikromi Street in the capital. This was reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The opening of the facility is timed to coincide with the implementation of the Address of the President of Tajikistan to the Majlisi Oli, in which 2025–2030 were declared the “Years of Development of the Digital Economy and Innovations”. The commissioning of the building became part of a large-scale program to digitalize public services, stimulate cashless payments and create a modern infrastructure for managing the capital.
The State Unitary Enterprise "Smart City" was created by the Resolution of the Chairman of the City of Dushanbe dated May 7, 2019 with the aim of improving the quality of city services, ensuring public safety and accelerating the socio-economic development of the city using information and communication technologies.
The new four-story administrative building with a basement is built in a modern style and equipped in accordance with national architectural standards. The construction was carried out by domestic specialists. The building is erected on a plot of 63 acres and includes:
– 94 work rooms,
– 4 conference halls with a capacity of 120 people,
– a canteen for 60 people,
– Data processing center,
– Monitoring Center,
– gym,
– a library and other auxiliary premises.
The data processing center is designed to store large amounts of information and is equipped with modern servers — it is planned to install more than 120 databases. The monitoring center with a total area of 200 square meters will provide round-the-clock work for 35 operators from the Department of Internal Affairs, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and the Dushanbe Emergency Situations Headquarters, who will monitor the safety of citizens and the functioning of the city infrastructure.
As part of his familiarization with the projects and initiatives of the State Unitary Enterprise “Smart City”, President Emomali Rahmon was informed about more than 20 projects being implemented, including:
– "Smart transport",
– "Smart education",
– "Smart Healthcare"
– "Digital map",
– "Green City"
– "MSW Management"
– the Safe City project and other initiatives to digitalize the housing and utilities sector, communications, medicine and education.
Young IT specialists, graduates of domestic and foreign universities, who speak foreign languages and have high digital competencies, are involved in the implementation of the programs.
The head of state instructed the company's management to actively attract domestic investment and expand cooperation with international development partners in order to effectively implement digitalization projects and further transform Dushanbe into a modern innovative metropolis.
