At a press conference in Astana, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi summed up the results of the visit of the Chinese Chairman to Kazakhstan to participate in the China-Central Asia summit.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi: "One of the most important outcomes of the summit is the implementation of the concept of the "China-Central Asian spirit", which we developed jointly with the five Central Asian countries. It embodies mutual trust, mutual respect, mutual benefit and mutual assistance. We strive to promote joint modernization through high-quality development. This approach has received the unanimous support of all five countries. It is the foundation of cooperation between China and Central Asia. Thanks to this, we have a common ideological foundation and common values, which makes it easier to overcome practical difficulties and reach consensus. The most important outcome of this summit is the signing of the Treaty of Permanent Friendship and Cooperation. First of all, this is a legally binding treaty that formally and permanently strengthens China's ties with the five Central Asian countries. The words about permanent friendship show that this is not a short-term agreement, but a long-term commitment."
