The first stage of the joint operation called "Illegal Traffic" aimed at regulating migration processes and combating violations of migration legislation continues in the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Khatlon region.
Every year, large-scale joint operations under the general name "Illegal" are carried out in the member states of the Council for Coordination of Combating Illegal Migration of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). In 2025, the first stage of the campaign started from June 16 to 25 in all regions of Tajikistan.
The main goal of the operation is to prevent violations of the rules of stay and illegal labor activity of foreign citizens, identify and suppress routes of illegal migration, as well as prevent other offenses and crimes committed by foreigners.
The operation in Khatlon Region is being carried out by employees of the Passport and Registration Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Region together with representatives of the Department of the State Committee for National Security and the Migration and Employment Service of the Region. The actions of the agencies are being coordinated according to the approved plan.
As part of the operation, control checks are carried out in public places, markets and shopping centers, as well as in residential buildings, hotels, hostels, enterprises and organizations. Particular attention is paid to compliance with the stay regime of foreign citizens and stateless persons, checking the availability and validity of visas, registration of passport data, as well as the availability of work permits.
In addition, law enforcement officers monitor the legality of permanent or temporary residence of foreigners, as well as their compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan and international treaties recognized by the country.
Operation “Illegal Traffic” is aimed at ensuring law and order and security in the Khatlon region and will continue until the identified violations are completely eliminated.
