Following the bilateral meeting between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, which took place in Astana as part of the second Central Asia-China Summit, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of artificial intelligence was signed. This was reported on Tuesday by the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the agreements reached, the Agency for Innovation and Technology under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China will establish a joint working group on artificial intelligence. The group will coordinate efforts to develop AI and exchange experience in this area.
“The memorandum reflects the desire of the two countries to strengthen their strategic partnership and recognition of the importance of artificial intelligence as a key factor in global scientific, technological and socio-economic progress,” the agency emphasized.
The parties declared their intention to promote the practical application of AI, improve digital infrastructure, develop the research base and train qualified personnel. In particular, it is planned to expand cooperation in the field of natural language processing, advanced algorithms, as well as conduct joint research at universities and research institutions.
The document envisages the development of a long-term mechanism for interstate dialogue on AI, with particular attention to the issues of ethical and public-benefit-oriented use of technology. Both countries expressed their readiness to use artificial intelligence for the benefit of their people and the sustainable development of the entire region.
