In the village of Navobod, Penjikent city, Sughd region, work has begun on paving intra-quarter roads. The ceremonial event was held with the participation of the Chairman of Sughd region, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, the press service of the regional administration reports.
The initiative is being implemented in preparation for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and is aimed at developing the road transport infrastructure of the region.
"Improving the condition of roads is one of the priorities of local authorities. This is directly related to the quality of life of the population, safety of movement and the general appearance of settlements," the head of the region emphasized in a conversation with local residents.
During the event, Akhmadzoda called on the population to actively participate in the improvement of territories, educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, as well as in the preservation of historical and cultural traditions.
According to representatives of the State Institution for the Maintenance of Highways of the City of Penjikent, about 27 kilometers of streets and intra-quarter driveways will be paved at the first stage. The work is being carried out using modern construction equipment.
The project to improve the road network is being implemented in conjunction with other socio-economic measures and is aimed at creating a comfortable urban environment.
