In preparation for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, large-scale construction and improvement works are ongoing in the Devashtich district of the Sughd region. As reported by the press service of the Sughd region administration, the Chairman of the Sughd region Rajabboy Akhmadzoda got acquainted with the progress of the festive projects.
During the working visit, the head of the region visited construction sites in various areas – from education and healthcare to industrial and social infrastructure. New buildings of the Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, educational institutions, health centers, irrigation facilities and water supply systems are being built in the district. Creative activities cover all jamoats of the district, including remote settlements.
Thus, in the Mujun jamoat, the construction of a new school was initiated by the residents themselves on the terms of public participation – in the form of hashar. In the village of Qal'ai Dust, a modern Health Center is being built, which after completion of the work will provide medical services to more than 6,700 people. Representatives of the private sector and local entrepreneurs make a significant contribution to the construction of facilities.
The regional chairman also got acquainted with the construction process of the shoe factory OOO Rakhmatullo, where up to 50 permanent jobs will be created after commissioning.
In the run-up to Independence Day, it is planned to complete the construction and reconstruction of 583 facilities for various purposes in the Devashtich district. Of these, 438 have already been commissioned. On the instructions of the head of state Emomali Rahmon, preschool institutions are also being actively built, including in remote villages. Thus, in the village of Basmanda, Vahdat jamoat, a kindergarten for 200 children is being built at the expense of the Sughd regional administration. In total, eight kindergartens are planned to be built in the district, three of which have already begun construction.
The village of Basmanda, where over 11 thousand people live, is actively implementing local development initiatives. A sewing workshop is being created here and a 12 km long irrigation water pipeline is being laid. This will allow 500 hectares of new land to be put into agricultural circulation and stimulate the economic development of the region.
Addressing the residents, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda emphasized that the active transformations in the district are the result of the far-sighted policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. According to him, the conditions created contribute not only to the growth of employment, but also to an increase in the volume of agricultural production, especially potatoes.
This year, 9,000 hectares of potatoes have been sown in the region, 800 hectares more than last year. In the future, it is planned to increase production volume to 500 thousand tons.
During the trip, the regional chairman also visited veteran of labor Tojiboy Gafforov, who was presented with monetary and material gifts on behalf of the Leader of the Nation. Akhmadzoda wished the respected veteran health and longevity.
