In the Farkhor district of the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan, a brutal crime is being investigated that resulted in the death of a young woman, a first-group disabled person. As reported by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Khatlon region, her father, who had previously been repeatedly convicted of alcohol abuse, was detained on suspicion of committing the murder.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 10 this year at about 9:00 pm on one of the streets of the district center. After receiving an emergency telephone message, an operational investigative group, which included police officers and prosecutors, left for the scene of the tragedy.
According to preliminary data, the suspect is Nazarov Sayvali Khushbarovich, born in 1964, residing on Bobodzhon Gafurov Street in the Farkhor District. The man, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, returned home and during a sudden conflict brutally beat his daughter, Nazarova Shakhnoza, born in 1999, who suffered from a mental illness and was officially recognized as a group I disabled person. As a result of multiple bodily injuries, the girl died on the spot before the arrival of doctors.
According to the investigation, Nazarov was previously described as being prone to aggression, systematically drinking alcohol and creating a tense, dysfunctional environment in the family. Particularly tragic is the fact that the deceased was deprived of maternal care since childhood – her mother died of an illness, and the girl was raised under constant psychological pressure from her father.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was opened against Nazarov under Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan – "Intentional murder committed with particular cruelty or against a knowingly helpless person." The penalty for this article provides for imprisonment for a term of fifteen to twenty-five years or life imprisonment.
Investigative measures are ongoing. The suspect has been remanded in custody, forensic medical and psychological-psychiatric examinations are being conducted, witnesses are being questioned.
Law enforcement agencies remind about the grave consequences of domestic violence and call on citizens to report such incidents to the competent authorities in order to prevent new tragedies.
