The Chairman of Khatlon region Davlatali Said made a working visit to Qubodiyon district to get acquainted with the progress of agricultural work, efficient use of land resources, harvesting, chemical treatment of crops against pests, as well as construction and restoration work on the eve of the 35th anniversary of state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the head of the region.
During the trip, the head of the region visited farms in the district, where he got acquainted with the process of growing cotton and other agricultural crops. This year, 7,580 hectares were allocated for cotton in the Kubodiyon district, of which 800 hectares were grown under film.
In Nosiri Khusrav jamoat, the regional chairman visited the Orzu farm, where he learned about cotton and vegetable growing. The farm's shareholders sowed five hectares under film and, thanks to strict adherence to agrotechnical requirements, achieved high results. Each cotton bush has already formed from 10 to 12 bolls, the expected harvest is up to 50 centners per hectare.
Davlatali Said instructed farmers to more actively apply modern agricultural methods in soil cultivation, fertilization, irrigation and protection of crops from diseases and pests in order to increase crop yields.
In addition, the farm is experimentally growing a variety of corn on 50 acres that has adapted well to the local climate and soils and is intended for consumption. The experimental work has shown good results, and those responsible have been tasked with expanding the area under this crop and organizing its export. Early onions are also grown on 30 acres, and the farmers have already received the first fruits.
In the Makhmadpalvon farm in the village of Havaskor, the regional chairman got acquainted with the process of chemical treatment of crops against pests, in particular spider mites. Of the 12 hectares of irrigated land, 6.5 hectares are sown with cotton, which is in good condition. Inter-row cultivation, irrigation and the first fertilization have been carried out.
Chinese corn is also grown on an area of 1.5 hectares, showing good results. Farmers in the region are actively developing gardening. In the Takhti Sangin jamoat, the Mukhammadsodik farm is engaged in viticulture on an area of 5 hectares. The varieties grown here are Presidential, Shohona and Pobeda. The yield of the vineyards is high, the harvest will begin in the next 15-20 days.
Davlatali Said stressed the importance of an integrated approach to the development of agriculture in the region, noting that the introduction of modern technologies and agricultural methods contributes to the growth of production and the improvement of the economic situation of farms.
