A meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon was held in the capital of Kazakhstan. The Chinese leader said that China has consistently supported Tajikistan in protecting its state independence, sovereignty and security. He called on the two countries to develop cooperation in bilateral trade, investment and infrastructure projects. He also noted the importance of fully realizing the potential of platforms such as Confucius Institutes, Lu Ban workshops and traditional Chinese medicine centers. Xi Jinping also wished Tajikistan a successful Chinese Culture Day in the fall. He also called for continuing the joint fight against the three evil forces and strengthening cooperation within the framework of multilateral mechanisms, including the China-Central Asia mechanism. Emomali Rahmon expressed readiness to expand bilateral ties. He noted that Tajikistan is interested in strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, infrastructure construction and sectors such as clean energy and artificial intelligence. He also called for increasing exchanges in the cultural, humanitarian and law enforcement spheres.
