The Tajikistan youth football team (U-18) won bronze medals at the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA U-20) Championship, beating the Uzbekistan team in the match for third place.
As reported by the Football Federation of Tajikistan, the game took place on June 16 at the TALCO Arena stadium in the city of Tursunzade. The match attracted about 3.5 thousand spectators. The regular time of the meeting ended with a score of 1:1. In the penalty shootout, luck was on the side of the Tajik team – 4:2, which allowed the young men to win the bronze medals of the tournament.
This achievement was a significant success for the Tajik youth team in the framework of international football competitions in Central Asia. The victory testifies to the high level of training of young football players and the development of football infrastructure in the country.
The final match of the 2025 CAFA Championship will be held on June 17 at the Central Stadium of Gissar, where the national teams of Kyrgyzstan and Iran will meet. The game is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time.
