A large-scale attack using missiles and drones was carried out in Kyiv at night, causing serious damage to residential buildings in various areas of the Ukrainian capital. According to the latest data, the death toll has already reached 14 people, more than 40 were injured, of whom over 30 were hospitalized.
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) Timur Tkachenko reported that 27 locations in different districts of the city were hit, including Solomensky, Svyatoshinsky, Darnitsky, Dniprovsky, Podolsky and Obolonsky. Damage was recorded at 12 sites.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that 18 people were injured in the Svyatoshinsky district as a result of the strike on multi-story residential buildings, 12 of whom received assistance on the spot, six were hospitalized. A fire broke out in one of the buildings, which is being extinguished by rescuers. At another location, a multi-story residential building was partially destroyed, and the rubble is being cleared and possible victims are being searched for.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the total number of people injured as a result of the night attack on Kyiv is 44.
In the Solomensky district, a 62-year-old US citizen was killed during shelling – this happened not far from the house where doctors were providing assistance to the victims.
The dormitories of the Kyiv Aviation Institute were also damaged, where, according to acting rector Ksenia Semenova, the residents were hiding in a large bunker. Everyone is alive, but there are wounded.
The attack was one of the largest in recent days. Russia had previously launched massive strikes in Ukraine, including in Kharkiv and the Rivne region, where there were also casualties and significant damage. Kyiv was also attacked, especially in the Obolon area, where major damage to residential buildings was recorded.
