The opening ceremony of the 46th spring session of the Small Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan was held in the building of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. The event was attended by more than 500 schoolchildren from all cities and regions of the republic, who were active in scientific research activities.
According to the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the session is aimed at implementing state scientific policy, developing scientific thinking in the younger generation and identifying talented schoolchildren who can contribute to the scientific and technological progress of the country.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Academician Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He emphasized that the priority development of science became possible thanks to the support and initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. According to him, the Junior Academy of Sciences plays an important role in training future scientists of the country.
During his speech, the academician recalled the words of the Head of State:
"In the context of the rapid development of modern science and technology, we must mobilize all opportunities for the education and upbringing of children, creating favorable conditions for their comprehensive development… If we want our homeland to become prosperous in the future and keep pace with developed countries, we must never be on the sidelines of the process of education and upbringing of the younger generation."
Over the years of its activity, the Small Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan has demonstrated significant results. Students of schools, lyceums and gymnasiums of the republic successfully conduct research work in various areas of science. The work of the academy is based on specialized sections, scientific clubs and creative associations, with the support of research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences, as well as the Republican Center for Additional Education of the Ministry of Education and Science.
Following the event, the most active participants were awarded diplomas and letters of thanks from the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.
