The national team of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation became the winner of the XXIV MGIMO Rector's Cup in mini-football, which took place on June 8 at the stadium of the Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations and was timed to coincide with Russia Day. This was reported by the diplomatic mission of Tajikistan in Moscow.
The prestigious tournament was attended by 29 teams, including teams of diplomatic missions accredited in the Russian Federation, a team of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a team of MGIMO teachers and staff, as well as a team from the tournament sponsor company, Snegiri.
Following the results of the competition, the team of the Embassy of Tajikistan took first place, demonstrating a high level of preparation and team play. The victory in the current tournament was already the eighth for the Tajik team, which confirms its status as one of the leaders among the football teams of diplomatic missions in Russia.
The MGIMO Rector's Cup is traditionally held on the eve of Russia Day and serves as a platform for strengthening friendly ties between representatives of the diplomatic corps, Russian government agencies and the academic community.
