Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda held a meeting with the CEO – Chairman of the Board of JSC Russian Railways, Chairman of the Council on Railway Transport of the CIS Member States Oleg Belozerov. The meeting took place in Dushanbe as part of the 82nd meeting of the Council of Railway Administrations of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on key areas of cooperation in the field of railway transport. Particular attention was paid to issues of strengthening regional transport interconnectivity, developing logistics infrastructure and increasing the efficiency of freight and passenger transportation.
The Prime Minister of Tajikistan noted that holding the 82nd meeting of the Railway Transport Council in Dushanbe creates an important platform for deepening partnership and developing coordinated solutions on pressing issues in the industry. He emphasized that within the framework of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the CIS, strengthening economic integration, developing transit potential and improving logistics links remain priorities.
“Modern geo-economic realities require coordinated efforts from the CIS countries to form a sustainable, reliable and modern transport infrastructure,” noted the head of the Tajik government.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of railway communications, including the modernization of infrastructure and rolling stock, digitalization of transportation management and the integration of railway networks in the Central Asian region with international transport corridors, including access to seaports.
Oleg Belozerov, in turn, confirmed the readiness of Russian Railways to develop practical cooperation with Tajik partners, and also highly appreciated Tajikistan’s contribution to organizing the work of the Council and developing railway cooperation within the CIS.
The meeting took place in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, and the parties expressed mutual interest in further deepening cooperation in the railway sector.
