Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziezoda, during a working visit to the Rasht district, got acquainted with the progress of spring field work, in particular, potato sowing in the territory of the rural jamoat of Khidzhborak. This was reported by the press service of the government of the country.
During the visit, Ziezode was provided with information on the current state of the district's agricultural sector. According to local authorities, 1,699 hectares of grain, 366 hectares of industrial crops, 251 hectares of vegetables and 1,637 hectares of potatoes were sown in 2025. In addition, new garden areas were planted on an area of 9.5 hectares.
To ensure the timely sowing campaign, farmers have been provided with the necessary resources: stocks of seeds and mineral fertilizers have been placed at the disposal of farmers, and agricultural machinery has been mobilized.
According to district authorities, residents of the Rasht district have completed sowing agricultural crops in their garden plots in full. Particular attention is being paid to expanding the area under potatoes, which is becoming possible due to the inclusion of previously unused hilly areas in agricultural circulation.
As the Deputy Prime Minister noted in a conversation with farmers, the development of agriculture, including the modernization of irrigation infrastructure, the development of new lands and providing the industry with modern equipment and high-quality seeds, is the most important element of Tajikistan’s food security strategy.
