The cities of Priluki and Kharkiv were hit by a nighttime attack by Russian attack drones, local authorities say. There are reportedly dead and wounded, including children.
According to the Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration Vyacheslav Chaus, at night the city of Priluki was hit by at least six Geranium-type UAVs. As a result of the shelling, five people were killed, including two women and a baby, whose bodies were found under the rubble of destroyed buildings. According to the State Emergency Service, the child who died was 1 year and 4 months old. The National Police specified that among the dead was a family: a 46-year-old woman, her daughter born in 1998, and her grandson born in 2024.
The attack resulted in large-scale fires. Two residential buildings, two garages, one outbuilding and a car were destroyed.
At the same time, drones attacked Kharkiv. According to the Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Sinegubov, 18 people were injured, including four children. In particular, children aged 13, 9 and 7 suffered injuries and a stress reaction. Among the injured were a pregnant woman and a 93-year-old pensioner. The facades of residential buildings were damaged, windows were broken and apartments were destroyed.
Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov reported six enemy strikes, two of which hit apartment buildings directly. In one case, part of a drone's engine ended up inside an apartment; the residents survived only by luck.
In addition, on the night of June 5, the Russian army launched a massive attack on the south of Odessa Oblast. As reported by the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleg Kiper, the Belgorod-Dnistrovsky district suffered. As a result of the shelling, a family medicine clinic, a children's and youth creativity center, and a lyceum building were destroyed and engulfed in flames. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.
The day before, on June 3, Russia launched a MLRS strike on the center of Sumy. Three people were killed and 25 were injured. Geranium drones also attacked Chernihiv, where four people were injured.
