It is reported that protocols were drawn up against the violators under Article 555 ("Unreasonable price hike") of the Code of Tajikistan on Administrative Offenses. The sellers were fined. The amount of the fine is also not reported. But, according to the above article, for individual entrepreneurs working on the basis of a patent, a fine of 20 to 40 calculation indicators is provided – from 1,500 ($151.5) to 3,000 somoni ($303).
Representatives of the capital's Interior Ministry recalled that special working groups to monitor the situation in the markets were created in early March, on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan. The reason was numerous complaints from residents of the capital about artificially inflated prices. At the same time, similar cases were reported . The Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs noted that raids and inspections of the city’s trading platforms will continue.
