In pursuance of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the Chairman of the Sughd Region Rajabboy Akhmadzoda made an official visit to the Voronezh Region of the Russian Federation, the press service of the regional administration reports.
As part of the visit, an official meeting between the Chairman of the Sughd Region Rajabboy Akhmadzoda and the Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev took place on May 30 in the building of the Voronezh Region Government. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening interregional cooperation in the spheres of economy, industry, agriculture, tourism, education and culture.
The Chairman of the Sughd Region, presenting the economic and industrial potential of the region, noted that in light of the constructive policy of the country's top leadership, especially within the framework of the announcement of the Years of Industrial Development (2022-2026), the industry of the Sughd Region is developing, and the region has today become one of the important export centers of the country, the products of its enterprises are exported to the Russian Federation and other foreign countries.
Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev also mentioned his region’s achievements in the areas of industry and agriculture, emphasizing the region’s readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with the Sughd Region.
During the visit, a joint business meeting was held with the participation of a wide range of entrepreneurs and government officials, where the economic opportunities of the Sughd region were presented. The regional chairman noted the creation of joint ventures, the construction of logistics centers, an increase in product exports and the development of tourism infrastructure as priority areas of cooperation.
During this visit, a number of cooperation agreements were signed between the Free Economic Zone "Sogd" and the Free Economic Zone "Voronezh", as well as the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two regions. These agreements will create a favorable basis for the establishment of joint ventures and the strengthening of trade and investment relations.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Sughd Region took part in the Urban Development Forum "Architecture of the VRN", where he spoke on the development of urban infrastructure, construction of modern facilities and strengthening cooperation in the field of architecture.
The official delegation of the Sughd region continued its visit by visiting a number of large industrial and logistics enterprises in Voronezh, including the Pyaterochka warehouse chain, the Global Drinks beverage plant, the Kobil-Group enterprise and the Maslenitsa company. The parties expressed their readiness to create joint ventures and export domestic products to the Russian Federation market.
During the meeting with the management of the Pyaterochka chain, an agreement was reached that the working group of this company would visit the Sughd region to coordinate issues of purchasing products. Also, given the successful experience of the Maslenitsa company in the production of vegetable oil, the issue of creating a joint venture in the Sughd region was considered.
At the end of the visit, a final meeting of successful entrepreneurs from both regions took place in the hall of the historical and cultural complex Stol-Von Holstein. During it, the leaders of Sogd and Voronezh spoke about the successful experience of cooperation and exchanged opinions on the development and expansion of industrial cooperation, support for the private sector and the provision of benefits to entrepreneurs.
The official visit of the delegation of the Sughd region under the leadership of the Chairman of the Sughd region Rajabboy Akhmadzoda to the Voronezh region marks the beginning of a new stage of interregional cooperation between the two friendly regions, giving a powerful impetus to strengthening economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as the development of traditional relations between Tajikistan and Russia.
