In Dushanbe, law enforcement officers detained a man who was illegally selling the psychotropic drug Pregabalin (known under the trade name Lyrica). This was reported by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Dushanbe.
According to the department, the detainee, Zafar Sultonov, organized the sale of a drug with psychoactive effects and addictive properties for the purpose of obtaining material gain. His illegal activity was stopped by officers of the Department for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Dushanbe City Department of Internal Affairs.


During the operational and investigative activities, over 840 capsules of Pregabalin were seized from the suspect. The seized substances were sent for examination. Relevant materials have been opened against Sultonov, and investigative actions are being carried out.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized, in the context of the growing incidence of psychoactive substance use among young people, joint preventive work to prevent drug use and the involvement of citizens in criminal activity related to the illegal drug trade is of particular importance.
The department called on the population to be vigilant and report cases of illegal distribution of psychotropic substances. Law enforcement agencies continue to actively work to identify and prevent such crimes.
