Nine representatives of Tajikistan will perform at the World Judo Championship, which will be held from June 13 to 20 in the capital of Hungary, Budapest. According to the Judo Federation of Tajikistan, 523 athletes (268 men and 255 women) from 89 countries will take part in the international tournament.
The Tajikistan team will be represented at the competition by Mehrzod Sufiyev (up to 60 kg), Emomali Nurali and Obid Jebov (up to 66 kg), Abubakr Sherov and Behruz Khodjazoda (up to 73 kg), Somon Makhmadbekov (up to 81 kg), Jakhongir Majidov and Karomatullo Khakimov (up to 100 kg), and Temur Rakhimov (over 100 kg).
Currently, Tajik athletes are holding their final training camp in preparation for the World Championship. Particular attention is paid to the tactical and physical readiness of the athletes. The team's main goal is to demonstrate a high level of skill and worthily represent Tajikistan in the international arena.
According to the Federation, participation in such tournaments plays a key role in raising the international ranking of athletes and the country as a whole, and also serves as an important stage in preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games.
