A visiting meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council on School Nutrition, organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, was held in the city of Khorog. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
The meeting was attended by representatives of a number of ministries, departments and committees of the country, the leadership of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, as well as specialists in the field of education and nutrition. The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the progress of the implementation of the State Program for the Development of School Nutrition in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022-2027.

Participants stressed that protecting the health of mothers and children, as well as the formation of a healthy lifestyle from an early age, remain the most important priorities of state policy. The school nutrition program is designed to provide students with a balanced and safe diet, promote their health and improve learning conditions.
"School meals are not only a health issue, but also the basis for the sustainable development of the nation. Providing children with quality nutrition is directly related to their physical and mental development," the representative of the Ministry of Health noted.
Particular attention was paid to the modernization of the school nutrition system, improvement of the material and technical base of school canteens, advanced training of staff and improvement of the regulatory framework in this area.
Following the meeting, the participants exchanged views on current problems and challenges, identified promising areas for development, and made a number of proposals for further improvement of the organization of food services in educational institutions in the country.
