Employees of the internal affairs bodies of the Khatlon region have identified and stopped the illegal activities of four residents of the Vose, Abdurahmoni Jomi and Shakhritus districts who were engaged in fortune telling and occult practices. This was reported by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Khatlon region.
“As part of measures to prevent and identify illegal activities of individuals engaged in witchcraft and misleading citizens under the guise of psychic services, four residents of various districts of the Khatlon region were detained,” the report says.

Among those detained:
Nuriddinova Nilufar Tagoenzarovna, born in 1987, resident of the Khulbuk jamoat, Vose district;
Shaidodova Mastona Khaetovna, born in 1976, resident of the village of Khodjamaston, Abdurahmoni Jomi district;
Sarakhonova Malika Sarievna, born in 1958, resident of the village of Korezi, Pakhtaobod jamoat, Shakhritus district;
Tagaeva Aitila Kurbanovna, born in 1955, resident of the village of Chorbog of the same jamoat.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the said persons, under the pretext of providing "magic" and "predictive" services, deceived gullible citizens, promising to solve personal, family and everyday problems. In exchange for these "services" the criminals received money.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against all the defendants under Article 482 of the Code of the Republic of Tajikistan on Administrative Offenses – for engaging in prohibited activities that mislead citizens. The case materials have been sent to the courts for consideration.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan calls on citizens not to trust people posing as “healers,” “fortune tellers,” and “psychics,” and to report such cases to law enforcement agencies.
