In honor of the International High-Level Conference on Glacier Conservation within the framework of the International Year of Glacier Conservation, specialists from the Glacier Study Center of the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan published the “Atlas of Glacial Lakes of Tajikistan,” reports NIAT “Khovar.”
The Atlas of Glacial Lakes of Tajikistan, published in 65 pages in two languages – Tajik and Russian, will be presented on the opening day of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Conservation, which will be held in Tajikistan from May 29 to 31.
The International High-Level Conference on Glacier Conservation will be organized within the framework of the International Year of Glacier Conservation, proposed at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, supported by more than 150 Member States of the United Nations at the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in December 2022 and adopted by the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly.
