A grand festival dedicated to World Football Day was held at the Central Republican Stadium in the capital of Tajikistan. The holiday, established on the initiative of the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali and supported by the United Nations, attracted more than 20 thousand spectators.
According to the Football Federation of Tajikistan, 700 young athletes took part in the festival. The main goal of the event was to promote mass and children's football, as well as popularize a healthy lifestyle among young people.

Among the honored guests of the sports festival were representatives of the republic's leadership, heads of ministries and departments, ambassadors of foreign states, sports veterans and famous public figures. Their participation, as the organizers note, was evidence of international support for the initiative aimed at developing football in the country and the region.

A rich cultural and entertainment program was prepared for the guests of the event. Particular attention was paid to children – playgrounds and sports grounds, master classes and competitions were organized on the stadium territory.
The celebration ended with a ceremonial presentation of memorable gifts to young football players and a colorful performance by creative groups.
