US President Donald Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has "gone completely nuts" after the massive missile strike on Ukraine. The head of the White House wrote about this on the social network Truth Social on Sunday, May 25.
"Something has happened to him. He is completely out of his mind!" Trump said. "He is killing a lot of people needlessly, and I'm not just talking about soldiers." The American leader added that during negotiations with Russia, Putin continues to strike Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. "I don't like it at all," he said.
Trump stressed that he believes the Russian president “wants all of Ukraine, not just part of it,” but that an attempt to seize it entirely would lead to, as Trump put it, “the collapse of Russia.” He also did not rule out the possibility of imposing additional sanctions against Moscow.
The American president also criticized Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. "He's not doing his country a favor by talking the way he does. Everything that comes out of his mouth causes problems," Trump wrote, noting that the conflict is "Zelensky, Putin, and Biden's war, not Trump's."
It was previously reported that Trump had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin on May 19. The conversation lasted more than two hours and was devoted to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
On the night of May 25, Russian troops launched a massive air strike on Ukrainian cities using 367 missiles and drones. According to Reuters, this is the largest air attack since the start of the full-scale war. At least 12 people were killed.
