The gross agricultural output of Tajikistan for January-April 2025 amounted to 6 billion 94.1 million somoni, which is 7.7% higher than the same period last year. This was reported by the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to official data, growth was recorded in both crop production and livestock farming. Crop production amounted to 940.4 million somoni, an increase of 8.9% compared to the same period in 2024. Livestock production reached 5 billion 153.7 million somoni, an increase of 7.4%.
In the structure of gross agricultural output, private subsidiary farms of the population continue to occupy a significant share – 66.9%. Dehkan farms account for 16.4% of the total volume. Public farms provided 16.7% of the output.
In terms of regions, the largest contribution to agricultural production was provided by farms in the Sughd region – 28.4%, and cities and districts of republican subordination (CDRS) – 18.3%. The contribution of the Khatlon region was 8.1%, and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) – 0.2%.
At the same time, in GBAO, 96.9% of all agricultural products are produced by private households, in Sughd region – 66.7%, in Khatlon – 63.3%, in GRRP – 73.1%.
The Statistics Agency notes the stable growth dynamics of the agricultural sector, which is associated with measures to support farmers, the introduction of modern technologies and the development of the private sector in the agro-industrial sector.
