The XVIII Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States, held in Dushanbe on May 14-15, 2025, became a rich platform for exchanging experiences and ideas. Panel discussions allowed participants not only to discuss professional issues, but also to present new promising projects, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.
Thus, the discussion platform "Traditions and Innovations in the Culture of the Commonwealth Countries" provided an opportunity to discuss current challenges and prospects for the development of the cultural heritage of the CIS member states. Galina Alekseeva, scientific director of the State Memorial and Nature Reserve "L. N. Tolstoy Museum-Estate Yasnaya Polyana", spoke about the methods and features of preserving historical heritage in an original atmosphere. Karine Tsaturova, Vice President and Secretary General of the International Union of Public Associations "International Confederation of Theatre Unions", shared her experience in uniting and cooperating creative teams.
As part of the discussion platform, a new significant project was presented – the International Performing Arts Competition “Soul of Eurasia”, organized by the Eurasian Center for Culture and Art. The Director of the Center Nikita Kalmykov spoke in detail about the concept of the competition, emphasizing its role in the development of intercultural dialogue.
"The Soul of Eurasia" is not just a competition of talents, but a platform for creating a single creative space. We see how art erases borders, and traditions become the basis for new ideas, he noted.
The presentation evoked a lively response from the participants. Zair Zairov, director of the Republican Specialized Music School named after V. Uspensky (Uzbekistan), stated that the Project is impressive in its scale and depth.
“For our countries, where music and dance are part of national identity, such a competition will become a bridge between generations and cultures,” he noted.
Alisher Dzhamaldinov, Director of the Center for Education Culture (Uzbekistan), supported his colleague.
"We are interested in the participation of CIS youth in such initiatives. This is a chance to show the world the richness of the Eurasian heritage through modern formats," he said.
Following the discussion, the participants unanimously approved the holding of the “Soul of Eurasia” competition and recommended involving the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra in the project as residents of the Eurasian Center for Culture and Art.
