In Tajikistan, as of May 1, 2025, restoration work covered 533.5 hectares of orchards and 41.7 hectares of vineyards. This was reported by NIAT "Khovar" with reference to the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As specified by the department, new gardens are also being planted in public and dehkan farms. As of the specified date of the current year, new fruit plantings were planted on an area of 242.6 hectares, which is 51.8% compared to the same period in 2024.
"Of the total volume of new gardens, 120.4 hectares are for pome crops, 102.2 hectares for stone fruits, 16.2 hectares for nut crops and 3.8 hectares for subtropical crops. At the same time, 112.8 hectares of gardens have been planted on dry (non-irrigated) lands," the Agency specified.
In addition, this year 35.4 hectares of new vineyards were planted in the republic, which is 3.8 times more than last year.
The establishment and restoration of orchards and vineyards in Tajikistan is part of a national program to develop the agricultural sector and ensure food security.
