Foreigners and stateless persons (SDPs) who are in Kyrgyzstan in violation of migration laws will be given the opportunity to legalize their stay until June 10, 2025. This is provided for by the decree of the country's president Sadyr Japarov dated May 22, Fergana.ru reports.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to approve a temporary regulation governing the procedure for legalizing foreigners who have violated migration rules.
Foreign citizens or LGBs whose visa or residence permit has expired or who lack the necessary documents, as well as those who have not left the country after the end of their legal period of stay, will be able to avoid administrative liability subject to voluntary legalization.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs began identifying such foreign citizens, and authorized bodies organized information and outreach work among them.
Earlier it was reported that a large-scale operation "Illegal" to identify violators of migration laws will start in Kyrgyzstan on June 10, 2025. According to estimates, the number of illegal immigrants in the country is about five thousand people.
