The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan is studying the experience of the SEC for the development of the national securities market Director of the Agency for Securities and Special Registration of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdurahmonzoda Nigina Shukhrat took part in the 31st annual International Conference of the Securities Market Development Institute, which was held from May 5 to 9, 2025 in Washington (USA). This was reported by the Agency for Securities and Special Registration of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Participation took place at the official invitation of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The conference brought together more than 500 representatives and heads of capital market regulators from more than 250 countries. The SEC is recognized as one of the leading regulators in the field of securities markets, and its experience is of particular value for developing countries, including Tajikistan, in the context of forming a sustainable and transparent regulatory system.
The main purpose of participation in the conference was to study modern international practices, improve national legislation, attract foreign investment, and develop transparent and reliable processes in the capital market of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the event, Abdurahmonzoda Nigina held bilateral meetings with the heads of the SEC – Paul Atkins and Kathleen Hutchinson. The negotiations discussed issues of technical cooperation and the establishment of practical forms of interaction between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan and the American regulator.

The Director of the Agency made an analytical report on the topic “Development of the capital market of the Republic of Tajikistan”, in which she covered in detail national achievements and current reforms in the field of regulation of the securities market.
The participation of a representative of Tajikistan in this international forum contributes to improving the country’s investment climate, attracting the attention of international institutions and introducing advanced regulatory practices into the national financial system.


Following the conference, Abdurakhmonzoda Nigina Shukhrat was awarded an official certificate for active participation and successful completion of the training program.
The leadership of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan pays special attention to the development of the domestic capital market as a key element of sustainable economic growth. The creation of an effective, transparent and competitive financial market is a strategic priority of the state economic policy.
The Ministry is actively working to create favorable conditions for attracting investment, improving the regulatory framework, introducing modern regulatory mechanisms and strengthening the institutional capacity of regulatory bodies. An important area is also increasing the financial literacy of the population, expanding the participation of the private sector in the stock market and creating tools for long-term attraction of domestic and foreign investment.
