Turkish Cuisine Week continues to introduce the Turkish gastronomic culture, which has been formed in the fertile lands of Anatolia for thousands of years and enriched by the traces of various civilizations over the centuries, to the general public. The theme of Turkish Cuisine Week 2025, which is celebrated annually in Turkey and around the world from May 21 to 27, is “Classic Dishes of Turkish Cuisine”.
The menu on the theme of "Classic Turkish Dishes" consists of dishes that are not only healthy and nutritious, but also very popular, they are prepared in almost every home in Turkey. Lentil soup and tarhana soup, which are indispensable soups of Turkish cuisine; second courses – karnyaryk-pilaf-cacik (stuffed eggplant-Turkish pilaf-snack of yogurt with herbs and cucumbers), stewed beans with meat-Turkish pilaf-marinated vegetables, mixed dolma-yogurt, which when eaten together create a real feast of taste, as well as the dish imambaildi (eggplant stuffed with vegetables stewed in olive oil), which is so light that it amazes anyone who eats it, play the main role on the stage this year. They are served with layered pies cooked on wood and manti (small Turkish dumplings) with various fillings: from potatoes to cheese, from greens to minced meat. The table also features salads of fresh vegetables – bostana and shepherd's, compotes of various varieties and desserts tavukgyogsu, kazandibi and baklava, which will always find a place on the table for a wonderful end to the meal.
Today, May 21, the "Turkish Cuisine Week" was ceremoniously opened at the Merve restaurant in Dushanbe. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Umut Acar and his wife, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Tajikistan Mrs. Elsa Pignole and her husband.





In honor of the "Turkish Cuisine Week", restaurants/cafes of Turkish and Eastern cuisine in Dushanbe will offer discounts on Turkish cuisine dishes at certain times from May 21 to 27. Below is a list of restaurants offering discounts and the time of the discounts.
Café "Merve" (Rudaki Ave. 92) and restaurant "Merve" (Trade Unions): from 15:00 to 17:00 15% discount on all Turkish cuisine dishes.
Restaurant "Burak": from 14:00 to 17:00, 15% discount on doner.
Restaurant “Chityr Usta”: from 14:00 to 17:00, 15% discount on doner.
Restaurant "Safo" (only the main restaurant, next to the Pedagogical University): from 15:00 to 17:00 15% discount on all Turkish cuisine dishes.
Restaurant "Antepkhan": throughout the day, 15% discount on all dishes and 30% discount on all desserts.
