From 29 to 31 May 2025, an exhibition entitled “Transforming Glacier Problems into Solutions” will be held in Dushanbe as part of the International High-Level Conference on Glacier Conservation. This was reported by the organizing committee of the event.
The conference and exhibition are being organized within the framework of the International Year of Glacier Conservation, proclaimed on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and supported at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly by more than 150 states.
According to the organisers, over 1,000 delegates have confirmed their participation in the conference, including international experts, politicians, scientists, civil society representatives, as well as leading climate scientists and water resources specialists.
The aim of the event is to unite the efforts of the global community to develop effective strategies for the protection of glaciers, sustainable management of water resources and mitigation of the effects of climate change.
The international exhibition, held as part of the conference, will be a key platform for showcasing cutting-edge research, glacier monitoring technologies, climate innovations and practical solutions. Particular attention will be paid to the environmental, social and economic consequences of glacier loss.
The exhibits will cover a wide range of topics, from satellite monitoring and drone use to digital platforms and scientific and educational programs. The exhibition will aim to raise public awareness, mobilize public support, and develop partnerships between governments, academia, organizations, and local communities.
The exhibition will bring together international and regional organizations, financial institutions, government agencies, research centers, NGOs, and the private sector.
