The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan decided to extend the ban on the export of liquefied petroleum gas, propane and butane by road and rail for a period of 6 months from May 14, Interfax reports.
"The order banning exports expires on May 14, 2025. In this regard, in order to provide the domestic market with liquefied petroleum gas, the Ministry has decided to extend the ban on the export of liquefied petroleum gas (EAEU TN VED code 2711 12 970 0), propane (EAEU TN VED code 2711 12 940 0) and butane (EAEU TN VED code 2711 13 970 0) by road and rail from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for a period of six months," the department reported.

Exceptions include export by subsoil users who have carried out production under a production sharing agreement or a subsoil use contract approved by the president, export of goods produced (processed) from Kazakhstani raw materials extracted at the Karachaganak field, on the basis of international treaties of Kazakhstan. In addition, an exception is made for transit shipments that begin and end outside of Kazakhstan.
A ban on the export of liquefied petroleum gas by road has been in effect in Kazakhstan since 2017 to prevent the illegal export of inexpensive fuel intended for the domestic market outside the republic.
