During a working visit, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda visited the Matcha district of the Sughd region, where he got acquainted with the state of agricultural lands, the progress of cotton cultivation, and the provision of farms with irrigation water. This was reported by the Executive Authority of the district.
On May 10, a working group headed by the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the agricultural lands of the dekhkan farms of the villages of Mastchokh and Obburdon. During the inspection, an analysis was made of the condition of the cotton plantations, the efficiency of inter-row cultivation, and the level of water supply to the crops.

Sulaimon Ziyozoda paid special attention to the issues of rational use of water resources and fair distribution of irrigation water. In conversations with managers and agronomists of farms, he emphasized the need to use modern agricultural techniques and energy-saving irrigation technologies to ensure sustainable development of cotton growing.
Particular attention was paid to the condition of the pumping station of the Firdavsi Dehkan Farm Association, which supplies water to more than 3 thousand hectares of land in the villages of Obburdon and Paldorak. Due to severe wear and tear and damage to water supply pipelines, the agricultural lands of the district faced interruptions in water supply.
Following the inspection, the relevant services were instructed to complete the work on restoring the pipeline and installing the necessary equipment as soon as possible with the involvement of specialized organizations.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan noted that in the context of climate change and declining water resources, providing agricultural producers with irrigation water is of strategic importance. Effective water management, modernization of irrigation systems and coordination of actions of all responsible departments, according to him, will ensure food security and sustainable development of the country's agricultural sector.
